Automotive leaf springs are also called blade springs.

Since the leaf spring is the most widely used elastic element in automobile suspension, it is an elastic beam with approximately equal strength composed of several alloy spring sheets of equal width but unequal length (thickness can be equal or unequal). As an elastic element of the suspension, it has good toughness.

Leaf springs are used as elastic elements as basic rear springs for operating vehicles such as trucks, large buses and minivans. Since leaf springs have good load carrying capacity, durability and simple structure, they are much worse than coil springs in terms of comfort, so cars basically do not use this structure. The material of this leaf spring is generally 60Si2Mn, and many heavy trucks also use 50CrVA.
