Automotive leaf springs are also called blade springs.

1. The car suspension system is very important, between the car body and the tire is composed of springs and shock absorbers, effectively cushioning the bearable vertical load force, making the car more comfortable when driving. Generally, the material used in automobile spring steel plate is 65Mn (65 manganese steel), and manganese steel is mainly used to withstand harsh conditions such as impact, compression, and material wear. Two materials, carbon spring steel and alloy spring steel, are used. Generally, the hardness of 65Mn is below HRC20, the hardness after heat treatment can reach more than duHRC60, and the hardness after quenching is generally around HRC62. The hardness of the general leaf spring of the automobile is between HRC40-55, and different hardness is required according to the different models of passenger cars, SUVs, off-road vehicles, military vehicles, trucks and other models.
